Operations Manager - fixed term

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of cleaning services across a diverse portfolio of client sites within the facilities management (FM) industry. This role ensures operational excellence, client satisfaction, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Oversee daily cleaning operations across multiple client sites.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and work plans to ensure service quality and compliance with client contracts.
• Monitor site activities to ensure optimal resource utilisation and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Client Relationship Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring consistent communication and proactive issue resolution.
• Conduct regular site visits and client meetings to review performance, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Foster strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and contract retention.
• Optimise opportunities for additional services across Client portfolio

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of Area and Site managers.
• Recruit, train, and onboard new team members, ensuring they understand and meet operational standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to promote staff development and high levels of engagement.

Quality Assurance

• Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures to uphold service standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify gaps and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Address service issues promptly and develop corrective action plans.

Financial and Resource Management

• Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability across operations.
• Oversee procurement and inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment to maintain service efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to optimise operational efficiency.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and address environmental sustainability practices within operations.

Key Competencies

• Proven leadership and team management skills and ability to communicate at all levels
• Industry knowledge with a good understanding of Cleaning methods and equipment
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.
• Proficient in all Microsoft packages expected for use within the role
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Criteria

• Full Clean Driving licence
• Fluent written and spoken English
