Main Objective:
To lead and manage Ancoves team of Field Service Technicians delivering repairs and
servicing of balers, compactors, and associated waste-handling equipment. The
Technical Manager will ensure consistent high standards, provide technical leadership,
develop technician capabilities, and support the sales team with expert machinery
recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
• Lead, motivate, and support Service Technicians in the field.
• Identify training needs and deliver upskilling programs focused on hydraulic,
electrical, and mechanical systems — with emphasis on baler and compactor
machinery.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, site audits, and quality checks.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Technical Oversight & Support:
• Act as the lead technical expert on baler and compactor repairs and diagnostics.
• Provide field support on complex jobs and assist technicians with
troubleshooting.
• Ensure consistent technical standards across all service activities.
• Keep technical documentation and fault logs up to date.
• Oversee technical teams’ accurate completion on all paperwork/electronic data
as per company and customer procedures.
Operational Coordination:
• Collaborate with operations support administrators to ensure SLA compliance.
• Monitor stock control, parts usage, and van inventories.
• Work closely with operation support administrators & management to optimise
workflows.
• Ensure full compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Sales Support & Client Advisory:
• Work with the sales team to recommend appropriate machinery solutions based
on technical knowledge and client needs.
• Attend client sites as needed to assess suitability of machinery.
• Provide input on product selection and installation planning.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or service agreements.
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure full adherence to H&S policies, risk assessments, and method
statements.
• Lead investigations into technical faults, safety incidents, or recurring issues.
• Promote responsible vehicle use and waste disposal aligned with company
procedures.

Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of balers and compactors.
• Strong background in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience supervising or mentoring technical staff.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Confident in reading circuit diagrams and using test equipment.
• Full EU Driver’s License
Desirable:
• Recognised qualifications in Engineering, Hydraulics, or Electrical Systems.
• Experience advising or collaborating with sales or technical sales teams.
• Familiarity with waste-handling equipment standards and compliance.
• Knowledge of CRM/job scheduling systems.
