About The Role

Job Title: Deputy Operations Manager

Department: Operations/Security Management

Reports To: Operations Manager/Head of Operations

Salary: £38,000 per annum + Company Vehicle

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly competent Deputy Operations Manager with a strong background in Security Management, operational oversight, and team leadership. This role supports the Operations Manager in day-to-day operational control, ensures all security and operational protocols are executed effectively, and drives continuous improvement across teams and processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, quickly identifies operational gaps, and implements effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

- Support the Operations Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing daily operations across multiple functional areas.

- Oversee workflow, resource allocation, and performance metrics to maintain high operational standards.

- Lead operational projects, analyse data, and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and service delivery.

- Act as second-in-command during the Operations Manager’s absence, making informed decisions to maintain smooth operations.

Security Management

- Oversee the implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of security policies and procedures.

- Conduct regular security risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to ensure proper safeguarding of personnel, assets, and facilities.

- Coordinate incident response, investigations, and reporting, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive a strong safety and security culture.

Team Management & Development

- Supervise, mentor, and develop operational and security teams, ensuring high performance and accountability.

- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.

- Foster teamwork, communication, and a positive workplace environment.

- Manage team schedules, training needs, and workforce planning to ensure optimal coverage and capability.

Stakeholder Coordination

- Liaise with internal departments, senior leadership, vendors, and external agencies to ensure seamless operations.

- Prepare reports, briefings, and operational updates for management and key stakeholders.

- Support emergency response planning, business continuity initiatives, and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications & Experience

- Proven experience in Operations Management, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

- Strong background in Security Management, including incident management, risk mitigation, and compliance.

- Experience managing and motivating diverse teams in a demanding operational environment.

- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions, and handle sensitive information with discretion.

- Relevant qualifications in Security Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
