Gatehouse Security Officer
Hours: 56 hours average per week, nights days and weekends
Duties as a Gatehouse Security Officer
- The on-coming officer will arrive in time for a handover from the off-going officer, after first reporting to the Security Control room to log-on for duty and collect a radio, circa 06:45/18:45
- The controlled movement of all vehicles are to be monitored and permission to enter WCP Estate must be confirmed.
- Greet all guests in a welcoming manner, regardless of their attitude towards the security officer. If needed, escalate matters to the Security Manager.
- Ensure that only trained Traffic Marshall Officers to direct traffic through the gates.
- Manage the vehicle entry process for vehicles entering through the Gatehouse, Wood Lane and Tesco Bollards via CCTV and Intercom system.
- Operate Rise Portal and Parkable systems.
- Send daily shift reports to Bidvest Noonan and WCP Management.
- Participate in WCP fire evacuation procedures.
- Ensure that all staff entering through the Gatehouse swipe their access pass and that authorisation is given via the Green light.
- Check deliveries on the Property Management System and collate the remaining details not already placed onto the Rise Portal.
- Keep visual on the Pedestrian Entry point, ensuring there is no tailgating through the bicycle access gate.
- Manage traffic entering onto site, ensuring queues do not build up.
- Communicate with the Post Room, ensuring they are aware of incoming deliveries and couriers.
- Escalate all issues to either the Security Manager or Logistics Supervisor.
- Any damage’s incurred to the WCP Gatehouse infrastructure and/or fabric or any accidents and incidents should be reported immediately to the Security Control Room and a log should be made in the DOB in Red Pen, with a corresponding statement from the officer as to how the events occurred.

- Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team
- Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the staff and stakeholders
