About the role:
The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational integrity and safety of plumbing and pipework systems across the site. You will be responsible for carrying out both proactive and reactive maintenance to support optimal site functionality, compliance and reliability.
In this role you will work with a range of pipework materials and systems, including water supply, drainage, steam and compressed air lines. Your day-to-day activities will involve diagnosing faults, performing repairs, installations and scheduled preventative maintenance. You will respond efficiently to breakdowns and emergencies, working collaboratively with other trades and site teams to minimise disruption and keep the site running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician Plumber:
- Planned and reactive maintenance - undertake scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns or emergencies affecting site plumbing or pipework systems, always ensuring minimal disruption and safety.
- Follow instructions, keep and update electronical, verbal and written records, as required.
- Fault diagnosis and repairs – investigate, diagnose and resolve faults in hot or cold water supply, LPHW/LTHW systems and drainage; apply technical expertise to deliver effective solutions.
- Installation and modification - Install and modify plumbing, pipework, fixtures, valves and associated equipment in accordance with site requirements, project specifications and applicable standards.
- Adhere to our Health & Safety policies and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross skilling and other job-related competencies.
- Provide clear and professional communication regarding maintenance activities, progress updates and service impacts to colleagues and stakeholders.
