Area Relief Security Officer
Covering: Basildon & Chelmsford
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Shifts: Days, Nights, Weekends, Bank Holidays
Guaranteed - 15hrs/week
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a professional and highly reliable Area Relief Security Officer to provide flexible cover across sites between Basildon and Chelmsford.
This is a key role within our team, providing essential support to cover holidays, sickness, emergency absence, and additional operational requirements. The successful candidate must be fully flexible and available at short notice.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of sites
- Monitor and control access and egress points
- Manage visitor sign-in/out procedures
- Carry out reception and front-of-house duties
- Provide a professional customer service experience at all times
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies
- Complete accurate incident reports and logbooks
- Ensure full compliance with site assignment instructions
- Monitor CCTV systems (where applicable)
- Act as a visible deterrent to prevent theft, vandalism, and anti-social behaviour
- Locking and unlocking of premises
- Carry out health & safety checks
Requirements
- Must hold a valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding)
- Full flexibility to cover days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- Must be available to work at short notice
- Reliable transport or ability to travel between Basildon and Chelmsford
- Strong communication skills
- Smart, professional appearance
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Previous security experience preferred
