Security Patrol officer

Space House is seeking dedicated and reliable Security Patrol Officers to join our growing team and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all who visit and work in the area.
About the Role: This is an indoor and outdoor position which may require long periods of time stood up
As a Security Patrol Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of Space House and the surrounding areas.
Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and providing a visible security presence across a diverse and vibrant landscape. You will ensure that Space House remains a secure space for customers, visitors, contractors, and employees alike.
The site has a rich history, impressive heritage, and is right in the heart of central London with Covent Garden and Holborn on the doorstep.
Space House is all about it's people and this position will be paving the way for personality, punctuality and vigour.
We require officers to be SIA licenced – Door Supervisor.
It is helpful but not essential to have your CCTV SIA license.
Key Responsibilities of a Security Patrol officer
- Conduct foot patrols across the Space House site
- Monitor and respond to any security issues, incidents, or emergencies promptly.
- Collaborate with local authorities and emergency services when required
- Provide a high level of customer service, assisting visitors and the public as needed.
- Work as part of a team to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
- Previous experience in security or a similar role is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people from all walks of life.
- Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and use initiative to handle security situations.
- A proactive and approachable attitude, with a keen eye for detail.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Job role requirement of a Security Patrol officer
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor license (CCTV desirable)
- First Aid certificate
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Have knowledge of Assignment Instructions (AI’s)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer/Client focused
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Basic computer literacy required
