Part time - Laboratory Cleaning Operative, Rathdrum

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Cleaning Operative to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment, and office area, supporting daily operations and ensuring high standards of hygiene are consistently met.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all areas of your schedule are completed as required
• Ensure all checklists are signed off as required
• Comply with all health & safety regulations
• Carry out any reasonable work instruction to the standard required to carry out regular and thorough treatments so as to maintain such conditions
• Clean and sanitise laboratory workspaces, equipment, and surfaces in accordance with strict protocols
• Perform general cleaning duties including
•  vacuuming, dusting, wiping surface areas, and ensuring all areas are neat and tidy
• Carry out sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors
•  Dust window ledges, skirting boards, fire extinguishers, light switches, sockets, and other fixtures
• Remove cobwebs from all areas
• Clean outside of fume hoods
• Clean fronts of cabinets
• Maintain cleaning records and complete log books as required
• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
• High standards of personal presentation
• Good oral and written English
• Previous cleaning experience (laboratory or clinical setting desirable but not essential
•   Ability to use floor buffer - desirable but not essential
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to follow strict procedures and safety guidelines
• Good time management and be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Own transport required
