Job Title: Kitchen Porter

As a member of the food and beverage team you are effectively the engine room of the kitchen. Working under the guidance of the chef lecturers, the primary aim of the job is to ensure that the kitchen is clean and operational so that classes can commence.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring the food preparation areas and washup area are clean and hygienic each day
• Washing utensils, equipment and dishes, making sure they are stored appropriately
• Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients as deliveries are received.
• Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting of food products occasionally and helping to prepare salads and basic stocks
• Disposing of rubbish in line with college / company policies
• Organising linen laundry
• Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen storage areas such as dry store and equipment stores.
• Daily interaction with and support of students will be required throughout the day.
