Job Title: Security Manager
Location: Centre MK, Milton Keynes, MK9 3ES
Reports to: Contract Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, £50,000 per annum, 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to complete Duty Manager every six weeks, if required Ad hoc Event support / Night Security due to the nature of the operation.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Manager to oversee all aspects of security operations at our large shopping centre. The Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Guests, Retailers, and Staff, as well as protecting the property and assets of the shopping centre. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Operations Management:
- Develop, implement, maintain and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Manage day-to-day security operations, including patrolling, surveillance, and incident response.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
- Arrange and present on Quarterly retailer briefings and work alongside local agencies
- Team Leadership:
- Resource, Recruit, train, and manage a team of security personnel.
- Schedule and manage security staff to always ensure adequate 24/7 365 days coverage.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development to security staff.
- Support Guest Services team as required
- Crisis and Incident Management:
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, Anti-Social, theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
- Represent Bidvest Noonan and the centre in operational contact with the Police, local business crime initiatives, local authorities, Bid Team, resilience and other companies.
- Coordinate with emergency services, and other external agencies on regular basis, work with all stakeholders to ensure emergency preparedness.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Customer Service:
- Foster a welcoming and safe environment for guests, tenants, and colleagues.
- Address customer concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with centre regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare and present regular security reports.
- Technology and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.
- Evaluate and recommend security technology upgrades to enhance safety and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills.
- To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least 5 years of experience within a security environment, preferably within a retail or shopping centre environment. With 24 months in a leadership role.
- Man-management experience and strong influencing skills to inspire and guide your team.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations (IOSH/NEBOSH desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A valid SIA Security Licence.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and approach challenges with a solutions-focused mindset.
